About GridThusTo

Husband & Doting Father. IT Guru, Photographer, Writer, Perpetual Student of All Things Interesting. What is interesting?
Since you asked, here is a list of things I say are interesting:

  • Anthropology
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Other Ologies
  • Photography
  • Writing
  • Technology
  • Cultures & Languages
  • Nature & Travel

Just to name a few, but not too much as to be laborious to read.

Uncertain of a specific purpose for this blog, early on I decided it should be an olio of topics that affect us all. While that does hold true, I started to notice that there are things I prefer to read and write about more than others. I decided to take inventory, and hone in on what really mattered to me.

  • Family
  • Homeless Advocacy
  • Mental Health Advocacy
  • Photography
  • Writing
  • Technology

While all of these passions are important to me, there is one in particular that I feel compelled to write about more. Since I was young, I have felt a calling on my life to help those in need. When it comes to the topic of homelessness, I am very compassionate and empathetic. If it were not for my loving family, I would have been homeless at one point or two myself. There is so much that can be done to help people in need, but I only recently realized that writing could be one of them. I believe that breaking down the stigma associated with homeless individuals can make a significant difference. I hope to inspire others to become passionate about helping end homelessness.

  1. Nice introduction and unique ‘focus’- maybe there are some stories from some homeless individuals which might help us all know how to be more engaged….

    • Yes, definitely. I have shared one story briefly in a prior post, but I plan to share more in the future. Since one of my passions is photography, I ultimately plan on doing a series including the individuals photo along with their story. I was in a bad motorcycle accident though so it may be a while yet before I can get back out and about to do this.

  2. Very well done. Kudos on your blog’s focus on helping the homeless. I’m very sorry to hear you were injured. I hope your recovery goes as well as possible.
